Welcome to the Inked Nomads Worldwide Community!

Dear Adventurer,

Thank you for joining the Inked Nomads Worldwide family! We’re thrilled to have you here as part of our journey, and we can’t wait to share our stories, experiences, and lessons with you. Whether you’re passionate about tattoos, world travel, or finding meaning in life’s adventures, this is the place for you. Welcome aboard!

Who We Are

We’re a tattooed husband-and-wife duo in our early 50s who decided that life is too short to stay put. Instead, we’re chasing dreams, exploring the world, and sharing stories of the amazing people, cultures, and tattoos we encounter along the way. Our YouTube channel is where we bring our adventures to life, but this newsletter is our space to dive deeper into our philosophy, share behind-the-scenes moments, and connect with you on a more personal level.

Our Mission Statement

To inspire individuals to embrace meaningful, adventurous lives by combining art, travel, and personal growth. Through our stories and experiences, we aim to create a global community of like-minded souls who see life as an opportunity to connect, learn, and create.

We believe in living boldly, cherishing experiences over possessions, and finding beauty in the art that adorns both bodies and the world around us. Together, let’s redefine what it means to live fully—whether you’re 25 or 50.

Our Early Retirement Journey: Tips, Tricks & Lessons Learned

Retiring in your early 50s while traveling the world might sound like a dream, but with planning and determination, it’s achievable! Here are the strategies and tips we’re using to make it happen:

1. Define What Retirement Means to You

For us, retirement doesn’t mean stopping work altogether; it means leaving traditional jobs behind to pursue passion projects—like our channel and this newsletter. Think about what brings you joy and structure your “retirement” around that.

2. Embrace Minimalism

  • Downsize Your Life: Sell or rent out your home and live more simply. A smaller footprint means lower expenses.

  • Focus on Experiences: Prioritize meaningful travel, art, and connections over material possessions.

3. Create Multiple Income Streams

  • Monetize Your Passions: Platforms like YouTube, Patreon, or Etsy are excellent for turning hobbies into income.

  • Freelance or Consult Remotely: Utilize your professional expertise to generate part-time income while on the road.

  • Invest Wisely: Build a diversified portfolio of stocks, index funds, and real estate to create passive income.

4. Budget Like a Pro

  • Track Every Dollar: Use tools like Mint or YNAB to monitor expenses.

  • Travel Smart: Opt for slow travel, where you stay longer in each destination to reduce costs.

  • Hunt for Deals: Use apps like Skyscanner, Airbnb, or trusted local resources to find affordable flights and accommodations.

  • Embrace House-Sitting: Join platforms like TrustedHousesitters to stay in amazing locations for free by caring for someone’s home or pets.

5. Maximize Savings Before Retiring

  • Eliminate Debt: Pay off high-interest credit cards and loans.

  • Contribute to Retirement Accounts: Max out IRAs, 401(k)s, or similar accounts while you’re still working.

  • Cut Unnecessary Expenses: Streamline your lifestyle by reducing subscription services, dining out less, and curbing impulse buys.

  • Automate Savings: Set up automatic transfers to savings and investment accounts to ensure consistent progress.

6. Stay Healthy (Physically & Mentally)

  • Preventative Care: Invest in regular checkups and stay active with yoga, hiking, or swimming—activities you can do anywhere.

  • Mindfulness Practices: Use meditation, journaling, or daily gratitude exercises to stay grounded.

  • Eat Well on the Road: Learn to cook simple, nutritious meals using local ingredients to save money and stay healthy.

7. Build a Global Community

Connect with fellow travelers and expats to exchange tips and ideas. Networking is invaluable for finding hidden gems, sharing resources, and even landing collaborative opportunities.

8. Adapt & Stay Flexible

Plans will change—and that’s okay! Embrace uncertainty as part of the adventure and be willing to adjust your path as needed.

9. Leverage Geoarbitrage

  • Live Where It’s Affordable: Spend time in countries with a lower cost of living to stretch your budget further.

  • Research Visa Options: Look into digital nomad or retirement visas that allow longer stays in affordable destinations.

10. Learn Skills for Self-Reliance

  • DIY Mindset: From fixing gear to managing travel logistics, learning to handle tasks yourself can save significant money.

  • Language Basics: Picking up key phrases in the local language can enhance experiences and often unlock better deals.
